The Free Flight Scam
If something appears too good to be true, it most likely is. Don’t be a victim of the free flight scam offers.
Here, they call you and tell you that you have received air tickets for 2 to great vacation spots such as the Caribbeans, Hawaii, Mexico, etc. In the first place, why would you win something you never participated in? This might be a scam.
What they do not tell you is that it’s never totally free. There might be charges such as taxes, processing, handling. But also and more important, you will need to pay for your hotel and buy your boarding from the firm that’s distributing the tickets.
If you think a minute and calculate all this before you take on this “free ticket” proposal, you can work out easily that the charges for meals and lodging effortlessly makes up for the charge of the air fare because costs have been so inflated.
Be aware of to whom you give your credit card details, phishing scams abound on the phone or via the internet. Only trust real companies with a serious track record.
